What can I talk about?
You can talk about anything affecting you, your time in the counselling room belongs to you
What if there are things I don't want to talk about?
How long does counselling last?
A counselling session typically lasts 50 minutes.
Counselling can last as many weeks as you need it to and you are also welcome to take breaks.
Can I leave a session early?
Yes. if you feel you need or want to leave a session early you can. the time in the counselling room is yours to use as you want to.
What if I get upset?
It's ok if you become upset during counselling, it is normal to have emotions.
What if I get angry during counselling?
It's ok if you become angry during a session. Anger is a normal emotion and its acceptable in the counselling room.
Can I contact you between sessions?
This is circumstantial and something we would discuss in the session and pre agree.
Can I bring someone with me?
Unfortunately you cannot bring someone to counselling, unless it is a joint relationship counselling session. Counselling is confidential and it is important that your privacy is protected.
Do you offer counselling sessions in the evening?
Yes evening sessions are available but can only be carried out remotely. That means it can be done by telephone or video call. The rate for remote sessions is reduced.
Can we chat before I decide?
Yes. I offer a free introductory 20 minute phone call so we can chat and you can decide if I am the right person to work with you
What are your costs?
It costs £60/per hr for counselling
It costs £50/per hr for remote counselling (telephone or video call)
It costs £65/per hr for supervision
It costs £80/per hr for joint relationship counselling
Reductions are available for students and those on a low income. Contact to discuss further.
